Running ASP.NET projects on Vista with IIS 7

- tagged

I messed around for a little bit, but to save yourself the time read the How to Enable ASP.NET 1.1 IIS7 article on IIS.Net.  I'm still learning IIS7, but the more I dig into it the more impressed with it.  I'm digging the Modular Architecture.

  1. 1.1! I suppose when you finally got it working on IIS7 you went and fashioned a pillow out of Mammoth Tusks, and found a nice warm cave to carve out some stone-wheels?

Haha. What are you doing disgracing IIS7 with some historical version of .NET!

Just playing, man. Glad to hear IIS7 is causing some goodness and warm-feelings to bubble up within ya. Our company just started using it on one of our newest servers - I haven't had much time with it yet, but I'm expecting to.

  2. Here's a little secret for you...the current Channel 9 is still running on v1.1 and sql 2000! :o

That's just one of the reasons we're excited to get version 4 out.

  3. No way! Well for a 1.1 app, I happen to like it very much. That doesn't mean I am not eagerly awaiting 4.0 - when 4.0 launches I'll quickly get over the current channel9.

Also, you might have a bug on your comment-engine here. The TextBox for Website loaded my email address, instead of my website...
