<rss version="2.0" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:trackback="http://madskills.com/public/xml/rss/module/trackback/" xmlns:wfw="http://wellformedweb.org/CommentAPI/" xmlns:slash="http://purl.org/rss/1.0/modules/slash/"><channel><title>Adam Kinney posts tagged with 'google'</title><description>Adam Kinney blog posts filtered by a specific tag</description><link>http://adamkinney.com/blog/tags/google/default.aspx</link><language>en-us</language><pubDate>Tue, 02 Dec 2008 22:42:22 GMT</pubDate><generator>Oxite</generator><item><title>Google Hacks: Star Frog Rock</title><description>&lt;p&gt;So tonight I was talking &lt;a href="http://weblogs.asp.net/eporter/" target="_blank"&gt;Erik Porter&lt;/a&gt; and the song &amp;quot;Hell Yes&amp;quot; by Beck came on and Erik said, &amp;quot;Hey isn&amp;#39;t that the video with the robots dancing?&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp; So I searched for &lt;a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=hell+yes+video" target="_blank"&gt;&amp;quot;Hell Yes Video&amp;quot; on Google&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;and funny enough his blog entry came up as the first entry in the search results!&amp;nbsp; He was actually just linking to a post on Boing Boing but since he used &amp;quot;Hell Yes Video&amp;quot; in the title of his entry and they did not he came up as the number one source (in addition to the fact that his blog is hosted on the highly-trafficed &lt;a href="http://weblogs.asp.net"&gt;weblogs.asp.net&lt;/a&gt; site.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This reminds me of the passphrase hint question used on some sites for registration nowadays.&amp;nbsp; Type in some keywords and&amp;nbsp;they let you reset your password.&amp;nbsp; Here, you save an entry with some unique keywords and you have an easier chance of making it to the top results list for Google.&amp;nbsp; That&amp;#39;s why I&amp;#39;ve entitled this entry &amp;quot;Star Frog Rock&amp;quot;.&amp;nbsp; It looks like a unique enough set of key words that hitting the top of the results list shouldn&amp;#39;t be too hard, even for the amount of traffic I get.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;#39;ll be checking back in two weeks to see where I rank (great way to end the month).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;Oh and here&amp;#39;s one more fun item I noticed.&amp;nbsp; The &lt;a href="http://www.google.com/q=hell+yes+video" target="_blank"&gt;error page on Google&lt;/a&gt; uses a text-based colored logo.&amp;nbsp; Just interesting to view that&amp;#39;s all.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;img src="http://adamkinney.com/blog/142/aggviewbug/default.aspx" alt="" /&gt;</description><comments>http://adamkinney.com/blog/142/default.aspx</comments><link>http://adamkinney.com/blog/142/default.aspx</link><pubDate>Fri, 16 Jun 2006 07:48:00 GMT</pubDate><guid isPermaLink="true">http://adamkinney.com/blog/142/default.aspx</guid><dc:creator>Adam Kinney</dc:creator><slash:comments>0</slash:comments><trackback:ping>http://adamkinney.com/blog/142/trackback/default.aspx</trackback:ping><category>Google</category></item></channel></rss>
