Ok, so after MIX06 and the launch of 10, I was ready for some relaxation and thought time. My blog has been dead, although not much difference than the regular entries. I've decided to do more with my blog, a little more effort into it. So I've been working on it and I thought keep silent until the site was updated, but I've got a few things to get out there.

Check out Manuel Clement's new music blog. Manuel came on the 10 show this week to show his basement transformed into a sound stage, very cool, I dig the music. And his blog he's offering it for free. Thanks Mano!
Its been mentioned before, but we're looking for a few good teammates. Our team, which runs Channel9, MicrosoftGadgets and 10 needs some more players. Mainly a UI person and/or a web/db person. I'm very excited about our upcoming schedule, but we're looking for some help to get us there.
Check out the 10 news blog. The project is still very new and we've got a bazillion ideas on features we'd like to add and make better. We'll be talking about new features, changes and just news on the 10 team. I keep thinking of it equal to the Howard 100 news on Howard 100 on Sirius.

Oh and Michael Lehman has posted the first episode of the new MIX06 Buzzcast on Channel9. They talk about strucutre and content of the conference. Its crazy to think the conference is actually only a few weeks away.

MIX06 flair RSS list

Based on donavon's comment, I realized the only way you could truly mix up the MIX06 conference flair is if you had access to the full data, not just a script with one option. In response, I've published an RSS list of the MIX06 flair images. And I say "list" because I'm making use of the Simple List Extensions spec to provide more meta data about the images. I previewed the list in the IE7 beta and as expected, I could easily sort the images based on the added list extension data. Very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing more applications handle the List spec.

I've updated the MIX06 flair script to include a new set of larger vegas-themed images. The script now randomly grabs from either set, but you may not want the new larger colorful set, or you may want to ditch the smaller black and white set. So I've left the option up to you. Following is the script to be added for each type of display:

PDC is great, its a lot of fun, and very interesting to see all of the new technologies that are coming out. But as a Web Developer/Designer/Community/Experience guy, I only really get into about 60% of the content, and then end up really using about 30% of the content on average. But when I heard about the MIX06 conference I was all ears.

MIX06 is a web conference about web technologies, business, practices and trends. Covering all of the great web technologies coming form Microsoft, presented not by the product team developing the technology, but rather by someone who is using the technology. This is going to be a good conference and I'm really looking forward to it. And heck its in Vegas.

Get the latest news on MIX06 from their blog, and if you are so inclined, add some mix flair to your site using the script below. The script renders a random mix 100px wide, 85px high image that links to the MIX06 site (viewable on my page to the right).
